St Francis of Assisi is a member of the American Catholic Church of New England in Wells, Maine, led by a validly ordained priest with apostolic succession. We believe that Jesus came for all and that nothing ought to stand between a person's need for Eucharist and their ability to receive it. We are a welcoming and affirming church and invite you to explore your own ministry and find out how God is working in your life.

We are Eucharistic, liturgical and sacramental people who celebrate liturgy according to the Roman rite. We adhere to the Nicene Creed and provide the following sacraments: Baptism, Eucharist, Confirmation, Reconciliation, Marriage, Holy Orders and Sacrament of the Sick. These sacraments are open to all, regardless of gender or sexual orientation.
